It takes all hands on deck to "get us to the church on time." I'm sure it's the same way at your house on Sunday mornings. But, this past Sunday, our theme at Bellevue was "Compassionate Care for Others." I couldn't help but remember a scene I witness week after week between my husband and my daughter.
Jesus washed feet. Zach changes her diaper, puts on her Sunday dress, socks and shoes, tells her how pretty she looks and sends her on to me to do her hair. I captured this image last Sunday before church because it struck me as something beautiful.
He doesn't have to help me. But, he chooses to. Just like Jesus, he serves our family in big ways like working diligently at his job to provide for us and in little ways that mean the world to me like pitching in as a team at home so we can spend more time as a family.
Girls, if you are reading this and you haven't found Mr. Right yet, here's what he looks like. He's a servant, just as the Bible says. I have had no trouble submitting to a guy who looks a lot like Jesus.
I am thankful God shined the light so bright and clear for me on the little boy who would become the man I'd marry and share my life with. Through all those long years, I never had a doubt in my mind that he was the one. Now I know why.
