something to keep you entertained while i'm away

A new website design with updated images! This is something I've had on my list for a while and it's finally done so you have something to look at while I'm away from the camera and computer. ; ) 

today, it's good to be me.

What a WONDERFUL day! 

It's 72 degrees outside, sunny, and I have 4 photo sessions on the books, one of which I've already successfully completed.

I have a beautiful baby girl gleefully kicking in my belly while my toddler boy plays happily at home outdoors with Ms. Aimee (his favorite place and his favorite person to be with besides me).

I've been editing this beautiful family all morning (I think she's the definition of a glowing mom to be). Check out a slideshow of my favorites from their session. I absolutely cannot wait to meet baby Bennett really, really soon! (Click the photo to activate the slideshow).

I get to go to work 2 days a week, do what I went to school to do, live my dream, hone my craft, meet lots of fun people, play with babies, roll around in the grass, and all the while serve the Lord.

And at the end of the day I get to go home to the man I love and kiss the cheeks of the sweetest little boy I know. 

This life He blessed me with is so good.

I never had a REAL big brother, but this is the one God sent my way to watch over me in high school (and even college)! He was the older brother of my best friend. He was one of the reasons I went to Ole Miss. He went there and loved it so much and he was there for part of my time there. So, when I got in a pinch he'd magically show up somehow someway. One time, I was at Starbucks in between classes and they had made my drink and I gave them my ID card to pay with my flex dollars. Needless to say those funds weren't enough to cover and I didn't have my wallet and he appeared like Superman to pay for my drink. Out of nowhere! Thank goodness my baby girl will have a real big brother of her own. Everyone needs that older, non boyfriend type, to watch out for you. 

One of my favorite memories of Janna and Justin is when they let Zach and I sleep at their house the night before we had Jonah. It was going to snow that night and we had an hour drive to the hospital for my scheduled C-Section. So, the Glass's said, come on down and stay with us! We live a block from Baptist! It is something I'll never forget. It was kind of magical. I hardly slept all night due to nerves and contractions and woke up to a winter wonderland out their bedrooom window early the morning of Jonah's birth.

Now, they are having their OWN baby boy! How exciting that I get the privilege of photographing the with their little guy for an entire year! Oh, the fun we'll have. Can't wait to meet him!

it's a maternity photo kind of day: hughes preview

Let me just start off by saying, I love this couple. I've done their engagement photos, wedding photos, and now there's a baby on the way that gets to be on my baby plan! I had so much fun on their shoot! It was warm enough to shoot outdoors in February, so we took the opportunity to get outside for most of their shots. I hope they enjoyed the day as much as I did. Can't wait to meet Baby Girl Hughes in the near future!
